...because of Cala de Vermut.......

...a new discovery but an old and enchanting gem. This little friendly, family run tapas and vermut bar is located close to the busy centre but yet tucked away in a quiet side street nearby. It has vermut on tap, a delicious selection of fresh tapas and some charming Costa Brava wall murals which all make for a unique and recomendable tapas experience.

...because of beautiful lit up BCN LLUM 2015...

...beautiful Barcelona lit up for the Festes de Santa Eulàlia; one of the two patron Saints of Barcelona.  Even in the midst of cold winter, Barcelona lights up and celebrates. A trail of lights leads you through the Gotic Quarter and delivers glowing statues, light installations and a sparkling city.

...because of the best creperia, Chulapio....

...a cool little bar that serves both cocktails and crepes. Artisanal and delicious. It is a different concept (one I hadn't thought about) but they make it work.   - you can combine cocktails and crepes!!

...because BunBo is a quick visit to Vietnam...

... and yet just around the corner from the Catedral. Bun Bo with its beautiful lanterns, bright colours and a view (photo)to Hulong Bay,  makes for a great getaway on a Winters night and a place to warm up with some spicey vietnamese food.  I love asian food and I am always happy when I find another (delicious) asian restaurant.

...because of a Cook-in sushi class...

...down in the depths of Barrio Gotic, not too far from Ramblas, hidden behind the graffiti door, is where one can learn the art of making sushi, tempura and other japanese delicacies... from a Catalan with a passion.   Jordi hosts cooking nights where he cooks and teaches and we watch- and cook (optional)- and eat (some of the best sushi I have ever eaten!). Fun and delicious...  what more can one ask for from a class!
