...because here comes my favourite night of the year....
...la Noche de Sant Juan on the 23rd June. A night that celebrates the start of summer and the summer solstice with all night firecrackers and bonfires! A night of fun and fiesta when the whole city celebrates. A night to cleanse the soul (by jumping over a fire) and wash of the sins (by taking a midnight swim)! (Although I love the night, I haven't embraced the celebrations that much!)
FUN - but keep and eye out not to lose an eye from a wayward flying firecracker!

...because of the spectacular fiesta de Sant Juan in Menorca...
..Menorca, 24 June. Fiesta de Sant Juan. Throughout Cataluña this is a big festival. In Ciutadella in Menorca they have their own traditon called the 'Jaleo'. There are many events which lead up to the official procession of riders through the city to the Mayoral Office where they display their riding skill and receive blessing for the Equestrian Games which follow. It is a melee of hooves and heads and astonishingly, no-one lost an eye!! Spectacular!
