...because Summer starts with the Damm video...

...while the official start of summer is the 23rd June, the real start is when the annual Estrella Damm, Mediterranen summer video is released! Every year different and every year capturing a different aspect of the ideal Mediterranean summer life. It reminds me why I am here, (the lifestyle, not the beer!)

..because my best Barcelona friend swam the Strait of Gibraltar...

...and I got to go alongside him as support crew.  17kilometers in 4hours 27minutes, non stop! An amazing achievement that I was lucky enough to be part of! Back to Barcelona now... by plane!

...because of a diversion to the South of Spain...

...to Andalucía and the Fería de Jerez.  In the same country as Barcelona but another Spain, filled with flamenco and horses and sherry. Barcelona does not have these fairs and this was a great opportunity to see one, it was colourful and fun and I was almost besotted!

...because of the oldest little cava bar in Born, El Xampanyet...

...El Xampanyet, located in Calle Montcada, has been a Barcelona tapas institution since it opened in 1929. It is famous for its Cantabrian anchovies and cheap cava. It is small and cosy and almost always crowded, which is part of the charm.

...because of brunch & more at Brunchalona....

... brunch & lunch,  coffee & cupcakes, drinks & doughnuts. Lots of good things to eat all day, including brunch (until 20.30h). There is something very good and delicious going on here- this is not their only location, there are 2 x Cup&Cakes and a Brunch&Cake.
