Barceloneta is the old fishing village of Barcelona and marisco (seafood) runs through the veins of the locals. There are many restaurants for paella and this quaint little restaurant serves the freshest and tastiest, made with love by Nini. It is authentic and a favourite little secret of the Barcelonese. Of course, the most best thing about paella is that it is not a meal for one, it is a dish that must be shared!
UN BESO: Paella at Cheriff Ginebre 15, Barceloneta X
The W Hotel located at the end of Barceloneta has its own uber cool pool deck with lounges, cocktails, a DJ and a magnificant view over the beaches of Barcelona.
Cadequés, a 1.5 hour drive north of Barcelona, on the Costa Brava. Beautiful, secluded (meaning a long, narrow and very windy road) and where Dalí and Gala made their home (easy to spot by the eggs and heads on the building). Coves, calitas (small beaches), and chiringuitos... it is a perfectly pictureque piece of paradise.
