...because of the dining instution, Casa Calvet....

... Casa Calvet, an established Barcelona dining institution serving modern fusion Catalan cuisine, in an Antoni Gaudi designed building. A step though the doors is a step into Barcelona Eixample history. A building designed for a wealthy textile designer, the original ground floor office and accounting spaces have been retained but converted into a restaurant.  Delicious dining in a prestigious and beautiful Barcelona building.

...because summer time is hotel roof terrace time!...

...summer time is 'roof top terrace' time!  A couple of years ago I did my best to visit all of them - check my link to 'roof terrace' to see my selection.  Summer is back, visitors are back and it is time to enjoy them again and the different and spectacular vistas that they offer of this city.

Alaire at Hotel Condes, offers a view of both Gaudi's Sagrada Familia and La Pedrera! A special view - best enjoyed with a cold copa de cava.  And at nights they offer a selection of live music entertainment.

...because of a magical moment on the rooftop of La Pedrera...

...a summer night on the rooftop at La Pedrera, cava & jazz & a backdrop of Tibidabo. A perfect place to let some of that Barcelona beauty wash over you.

...because of the MNAC on Montjuïc...

...Catalan culture in a palace on a hill.  The Museum of National Art of Cataluña (MNAC) is situated in the magnificent palace (built for the World Exhibition) at Plaza España. It contains an extensive display of rescued murals from the walls of Medieval chuches in the Pirineos (see my Salardú post) through to examples of Modernist Catalan art.  It is fascinating and rich example of all art Catalan.

...because they light up Casa Batlló in a spectacular show...

...in celebration of having Casa Batlló open to the public for 10 years, they lit the house up in a spectacular light and music show! Amazing!  Never a dull moment!

... because I think I found the rooftop with the most spectacular view...

... Hotel Majestic has a view from Montjuic to Tibidabo, almost 360° including Gaudi's Casa Battlo and Sagrada Familia. The sea, the cathedrals, the Torre Agbar, the Olympic Stadium, it is a beautiful terrace with a breathtaking view.  It could be the most spectacular... but there are still a few more to see.
