...street art has not been a thing for me but Journey of an Artsitigator changed that when she took us on a marvellously informative and educational tour of the street art scene in Barcelona's El Raval.  We walked, we looked and we admired the ever changing street art scene while learning about its culture, the rules of street art and its artists.

...because of the beautiful Biblioteca Pública Arús....

     

 

 

 

 

  

 ...my idea of historical heaven, a whole library filled with beautifully bound old books. This Public Library was originally in a private residence that was donated to the City by it's owner in 1895. It still functions today providing references for students of history, cultural and society and is a peaceful haven of time gone by.

... my favourite tienda (shop) on Paseo de Gracia, which always has something new and interesting for the house! Never what you need, always what you want!

...because on St Jordi Day, the Town Hall is open...

... and it is very impressive,  imbedded with the history of Barcelona.  It is not only a day of books and roses (and kinghts slaying dragons! Every Dia de St Jordi, (23 April) the Ayuntamiento  and Generalitat open their doors to the public. It is well worth the visit (although I didn't find my knight in shining armour there!!)
