....because of the tapas and wine at Perikete....

... Perikete, is tucked in the island between El Born and Barceloneta, is a buzzing tapas bar full of colour and music, tapas and wine. A great place to sit and watch the world pass by while sipping sangria and nibbling on patatas bravas...or croquettes... or jamón, of course...

...because of the new Interferencias for men....

... in my favourite little shopping street in El Born, Flassaders, is a new importer of designer Italian wear for men, Interferencias.  Adding style to this little Boho part of Born. Now open!

....because of the little shop of restoration, ViraVolta....

...ViraVolta, a place where furniture is given a new life - by you or by the team. You can buy something restored or take to the workshop yourself and resurrect your own piece - a perfect space, especially for those who don't have it at home. A charming little store filled with vintage treasures.

....because of really good coffee at True Artisan Coffee....

...having been a barista and having had a cafe - I appreciate a good coffee, which isn't always too easy to find in Barcelona. However, I recently discovered, conveniently close to home, the True Artisan Cafe which is all about excellent coffee...and their machines- with the added bonus of a friendly barista.

...because of Flamenco Barcelona in Teatro Principal....

... and I thought flamenco was just in the South!
Flamenco Barcelona has just opened in Teatro Principal in Las Ramblas and is 45minutes of spectacular Flamenco! A mesmerising immersion into the dance and songs of the gitanos...I left clapping my hands (palmas) and stamping my feet (taconeando)....

...because of my new local, Casa Lolea...

...the vermuteria, cafe and tapas bar is located in Sant Pere Més Alt, by the quaint little Passatge Sert. Open all day, this pretty and chic place is a highlight on the street; serving vermut, wine, their artisinal sangría and tapas all day. (Even better, is that it is close to me and my new favourite place to go.)

...because of the organic winebar, Bar Brutal....

...a restored, cozy, old style bar and bodega that full of atmosphere. It is all about organic and biodynamic wine, both Spanish and European. They have wines by the glass and an extensive list of wines to buy by the bottle. They offer tastings and the staff are happy to help you understand the wines. Great for atmosphere and organic wines.
