...a backstage tour at historical Opera House, Teatre del Liceu.  Behind this beatuiful 1847 facade and theatre lies a modern and cavernous reheasal, costume making, wig making, set building space.  An intriguing visit to discover just how much is actually going on behind the scenes of a modern day opera in this theater.

...because of the beautiful Biblioteca Pública Arús....

     

 

 

 

 

  

 ...my idea of historical heaven, a whole library filled with beautifully bound old books. This Public Library was originally in a private residence that was donated to the City by it's owner in 1895. It still functions today providing references for students of history, cultural and society and is a peaceful haven of time gone by.

...because of the new and sumptuous El Nacional...

 

Located down a little laneway off Paseo de Gracia, El Nacional- once a run-down car parking space- has been remodelled as the new glamorous and innovative place to have a coffee, to have a wine or to dine. There are a variety of different zones within the space - 4 restaurants and 4 bars - offering a variety of culinary and drinking options. The industrialist building, which first opened as a Theatre (1870-1900),has also been a fabric factory, a a car dealership and a car parking space, and it now has a new life as a beautiful dining space.
